Therapy For Children

Therapy with children is interactive, engaging and playful. Through fun activities and an approach of empathy, we can create rapport and build trust. Sessions are generally focused on strengths-building, and topics are approached with curiosity and care. I bring in attachment theory, creativity and nervous system work. Parents might be involved in sessions depending on the needs of the client.

Therapy for Teens

Navigating the ups and downs of adolescence is often challenging, unpredictable and stressful. Having a space to reflect on feelings and build insight can improve how teens view themselves and the world around them. Creative sessions involve storytelling and self-expression. Tuning into the nervous system can help teens respond to stressors from a balanced place.

Specializations when working with kids and teens include:

  • Adoption and attachment

  • Anxiety (generalized, social, academic, perfectionism)

  • Creativity development and self-expression

  • Depression

  • Navigating family dynamics

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Self-esteem building

  • Self image

  • Trauma

Art therapy engages children and teens in imaginative, visual storytelling. The sensory-based nature of art-making can foster integration of the mind and body.

Goals include stimulating creativity, boosting self-esteem and building frustration tolerance. Art therapy encourages kids to visually express and record thoughts, feelings and perceptions.

I bring in various therapeutic modalities to create an individualized treatment plan.
